Alumni Present Princess Awoonor-Williams Scholarship to Continuing Student

At the 2007 Commencement ceremony, alumnus Fred Deegbe, Class of 2006 presented the Princess Awoonor-Williams (PAW) Scholarship to Rose Dodd, Class of 2009. The scholarship provides $1250 annually to students in financial need who personify the values of Scholarship, Leadership and Citizenship. 

The scholarship fund was founded by members of the Class of 2006 in honor of Dr. Princess Awoonor-Williams, former Head of Ashesi's Business Department, who passed away last year.  Dr. Awoonor-Williams was a leader on campus and known for her generosity towards students in need.   

At last year's graduation, members of the Ashesi community came together to donate over $5000 to start the fund.  The presentation to Rose Dodd during the 2007 graduation is the first of what will be an annual award.
