Ashesi President honored as one of the 'Top Forty Under Forty'
Sep 2004
In a special edition of the Puget Sound Business Journal, Ashesi President and Founder, Patrick Awuah was recognized among the top business leaders under the age of forty in the Puget Sound area. The annual award is given to forty young business people that show promise or have established themselves as leaders in the business community. Judged by a panel of four former award recipients and four established members of the business community, award winners are chosen for more than just their business savvy, but for their involvement in improving the community. Patrick was honored along with other recipients of the award at a reception on the evening of September 10th at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel in downtown Seattle.
The award is truly a wonderful tribute to all that has been accomplished by Patrick and Ashesi over the last three years. The award comes in the wake of Patrick receiving an honorary Doctor of Laws degree in June from his alma mater, Swarthmore College. This has been an exciting couple of months for Patrick and Ashesi!

Ashesi welcomes the class of 2008
Aug 2004
Ashesi would like to welcome the class of 2008 to campus. The class of 2008 consists of representatives from Nigeria and Ghana. During the week of August 16th, 2004 these students took part in orientation week. They participated in games, team building exercises, computer literacy courses, and got to know one another.
Students from the class of 2008 were a part of our first August enrollment. Moving forward Ashesi will move the academic calendar year from starting in March to beginning August, matching the Academic schedules used by Ghana's public universities and universities in the United States. This new academic schedule will allow Ashesi to offer a simplified application process and offer more courses to study abroad students.
